Why Us

The independent party
in the room.

Anesthesiologists, CRNAs and AAs, and healthcare finance and operations specialists who have sat on both sides of this table — and know what the numbers actually support.

AOC Team Leadership

Our Mission

Most anesthesia disputes are not really disagreements. They are two parties arguing from numbers neither of them can see. We produce one set of figures both can check, so a hospital and the group already covering its rooms can settle on a figure that works for both and holds for more than a year.

We are not a staffing company. We place no providers and have no arm that would benefit from a change of group. Our first objective on any engagement is that the hospital keeps the people already doing the work.

Our Vision

We envision a healthcare environment where hospitals and anesthesia providers work collaboratively, guided by transparent data, fair evaluation models, and sustainable strategies for long-term success.

How we work

A documented method, not an opinion

Every engagement runs the same four stages against the same evidence standards. That is deliberate: an analysis that cannot be reproduced by someone else is not much use in a negotiation, and it is worth nothing at all in arbitration.

01

Establish the baseline

We reconcile your anesthesia spend, coverage model and collections against the source data — the surgical schedule as run, not as contracted.

Baseline model
02

Benchmark it

Your figures are compared against market rate for comparable facilities: subsidy per case, cost per anesthetizing site, collections per unit.

Market position
03

Test the alternatives

We model what actually changes the number — coverage redesign, staffing ratio, charge capture, contract terms — and what each is worth.

Options, costed
04

Put it on the table

You get the workings, not just the conclusion, in a form that holds up when your group’s advisors challenge it. Where it goes to IDR, the evidence package is built to that standard.

Defensible position

A benchmark review runs in weeks; a full service-line assessment in months. We scope to your renewal date, and we say so at the outset if the calendar will not support the work.

The AOC Difference

What Sets Us Apart

Impartial, and structurally so

No staffing arm, no placement fees, and nothing in our fee that moves with the outcome. We will tell a hospital when the group’s ask is justified, and a group when it is not. An analysis that only ever lands one way is not analysis, and everyone in the room can tell.

Fixed fee, never a share of savings

Scope and price agreed before we start, so the cost is a line you approve rather than a meter that runs. Contingency pricing gives an advisor a reason to find a problem whether or not one is there — which is the exact incentive you are hiring us to be free of.

The senior person is the one doing the work

Whoever models your service line is whoever sits in the room when it is questioned. There is no analyst layer between you and the analysis, which is most of the reason we cost a fraction of a national firm.
